So the "ginger and me" have some big news. We are expecting our first baby in June and we are so excited. This wasn't exactly planned, but it also wasn't prevented. But we are so thrilled to say the least.
We found out about the pregnancy probably the earliest you can find out. I was just 4 weeks along when I took a pregnancy test and it came out positive! Then I took a few more just to make sure, and they were all positive. I literally couldn't believe my eyes, so I just kept taking pregnancy tests, ha. Of course we spent the next few days researching ALL things baby, until the nausea hit. Then it wasn't so fun anymore. Although I will say I was extremely lucky and never had the dreaded morning sickness. I was just ALWAYS tired, but hey I'll take that any day.
The pregnancy so far has been really good, I mean I'm not the type that feels the amazing "pregnancy glow" by any means, I mostly just feel thick and tired and hungry 24/7. I have been working out regularly which has been a LIFESAVER. I've noticed that waking up and going to the gym right away, after eating breakfast of course, makes me feel the best. I avoided a lot of nausea because I hit the gym in the mornings, for whatever reason it worked for me during that dreaded first trimester.
at 17 weeks, I am finally starting to see a little bump pop out by the end of the day. It usually stays hidden until about 4ish and then after that it just gets bigger and bigger until bedtime and then the process starts all over again each day ending with a tad bit bigger of a bump. I can't deny that I am kind of excited to officially start showing, mostly to start feeling the baby move around and apparently those two things go together. I know I get to start feeling the baby kick and move around within the next few weeks and I am SO excited. My sweet husband has already started playing the guitar and singing because he knows the baby can hear him now haha, I don't think he'll ever stop and it's pretty cute. I love seeing him get so excited about being a Dad, makes the process of being pregnant that much easier.
We were in Philadelphia with my parents for Christmas this year and it was a blast. We were able to travel to NYC and just spend some quality time together with my parents. Sidenote- I am an only child and my husband is 1 of 7, so my husband was in for a lower key Christmas than he is used to, but he was a trooper and had a lot of fun with my parents.
On Christmas Eve, while we were working out, we received an important phone call from my doctor here in Houston. She told my husband and I that my blood work from the previous appointment had come back and the baby looks completely healthy. We were SO happy, it was the best Christmas news to hear. She also told us that we are having a little baby GIRL, and we were even more excited about that. We broke the news to my parents and my in-laws and all my husbands siblings later that day by wrapping up little pink socks and having them open them up, they were all so thrilled! It was truly a Christmas to remember! Hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas!
